Sessions designed to help you be successful!
The Essentials of Reporting & Compliance Part I
Engage with unclaimed property administrators who will guide you step-by-step through due diligence, dormancy periods, filing reports, common reporting errors, best practices, California reporting requirements, aggregate reporting, online Reporting, etc.
The Essentials of Reporting & Compliance Part II
Connect through meaningful dialogue to explore specific reporting issues and areas of reporting unclaimed property requiring clarification such as reciprocity, third party administrators, foreign owners, and what constitutes contact. Stock remittance issues, offset or customer netting, and inactivity vs. RPO, etc. will also be discussed.
Industry-Specific Roundtables
In response to your suggestions, we have moved this session to occur earlier in the workshop. Attendees will breakout into like-minded groups to discuss unique reporting issues. Each group will elect a facilitator and have an administrator as a resource. Facilitators will then report out any questions or recommendations.
Legislative Update, Uniformity and Special Topics
Unclaimed property experts will present a summary of the previous year's legislative enactments and regulation changes. Topics that will be included are IRA's, Stored Value Cards, ERISA, voluntary disclosure programs and the status of life insurance audits. Especially important, will be obtaining suggestions about our revising the 1995 Uniform Unclaimed Property Act, which NAUPA has joined with the Uniform Law Commission to bring about.
Everyone Communicates, Few Connect
Do you ever feel like: "I like my people but I just don't feel like we are on the same page"; or " I have a few people that are as competent as the rest but we are always butting heads"; or "every time I talk to X I get the 'glazed over' look from them?" Nationally recognized trainer, speaker, and business coach, Tom Cooper, will cover two key principles for improving communication with others, and then one specific actionable takeaway to make your communications more powerful.
Free Reporting Software Training
Interactive instruction will be provided for UPExchange, the only holder reporting software system exclusively endorsed by NAUPA.
The Truth, Whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth
A panel discussion by unclaimed property audit professionals, administrators and holders.
Open Forum
In addition to obtaining answers and clarification to questions not yet answered during the workshop, find out how your company can claim unclaimed funds.
