NAUPA National Holder Worshop & Forum


May 15-16, 2014

The National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators will host a Holder Interaction Focus portion of its Unclaimed Property Track at the NAST Treasury Management Training Symposium to be held at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The intensive two-day seven hour seminar with additional networking time has been specifically designed for financial professionals who staff the unclaimed property function in their company. This is a unique opportunity to meet with state unclaimed property officials in a positive and cooperative environment to discuss issues that are important to you.

The Holder Workshop & Forum will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15th and continue until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16th. Single-company holders are invited to attend for the special rate of $375*, which includes the evening networking meal event and breakfast and lunch on Friday. The special hotel rate will be $139. Attendance also includes a one-year subscription to the NAUPA QRP States Unclaimed Property Monitoring Service.

*The registration fee for consultants, advocates, attorneys and other service providers that assist companies with consulting, compliance, legal matters, audits and/or reporting of unclaimed property will be at the private sector rate of $1350 for NAST Corporate Affiliates or $2600 for non-NAST members. Both private sector rates include the entire NAST Treasury Management Training Symposium.

CPE credit letters will be available upon request to send to state Boards of Accountancy.

Sessions designed to help you be successful!

The Essentials of Reporting & Compliance Part I
Engage with unclaimed property administrators who will guide you step-by-step through due diligence, dormancy periods, filing reports, common reporting errors, best practices, California reporting requirements, aggregate reporting, online Reporting, etc.

The Essentials of Reporting & Compliance Part II
Connect through meaningful dialogue to explore specific reporting issues and areas of reporting unclaimed property requiring further clarification.
  
Industry-Specific Roundtables
In response to your suggestion, we have moved this session to occur earlier in the workshop. Attendees will breakout into like-minded groups to discuss unique reporting issues. Each group will elect a facilitator and have an administrator as a resource. Facilitators will then report out any questions or recommendations.

Legislative Update, Uniformity and Special Topics
Unclaimed property experts will present a summary of the previous year's legislative enactments and regulation changes.

Free Reporting Software Training
Interactive instruction will be provided for UPExchange, the only holder reporting software system exclusively endorsed by NAUPA.
 
Unclaimed Property Reporting Forum
In addition to obtaining answers and clarification to questions not yet answered during the workshop.
